If people feel judged over me saying that that's them projecting. So no not the same thing at all.Īgain I didn't judge anyone, I said I wouldn't trust them to make something to go on my face and I don't see why you would want to buy from them when there's an oversaturated market out there of affordable but safe makeup, that doesn't contribute to the fast fashion giant that is SheIn. I brought up Shein's lead cause they're the one making the makeup, not old navy or Lululemon or any other brand people have brought it up. No others are not doing the same, they're bringing up brands with clothes that had lead in it which has nothing to do with the topic at hand. I'm not making sweeping assumptions, lead was found in their clothes meaning I wouldn't trust them to make makeup to put on my face until that was investigated too. Better than other more expensive brands.Īnd just becuase you brought up clothes as the issue, people shop there because other brands don't cater to their demographic.Īs shitty as shein is, they cater to people the rest of the world doesn't. Sheins makeup quality is actually outstanding. I would say if you can afford to save up for something else you're not the person who has limited options. Do what you want, but maybe don't judge others for things they have to do to be able to afford some makeup. Others are doing the same and you're moaning that isn't what you're talking about. You're equating a potential clothing issue with makeup. You're making huge sweeping assumptions and making lots of judgements about people in general but those who buy shein. Does not equal makeup that is bad for you and falls apart. Lead in clothes, what lead, how much, where etc. There are a lot of assumptions in your posts and alos quite a lot of logic leaps. A mistake like that can damage kids, it's dangerous and not up for discussion. I'm sorry but why would you trust a brand that puts 20 times the limit of lead for children to be around, let alone wear it. I'm not saying the simple presence of chemicals alone is risky, just the SHEER amount of them found in their clothes is worrying as hell. Not only did these brands use the chemicals, they surpassed the limit.

I am not, and never tried to suggest to avoid brands that use chemicals full stop. I'm fully aware that toxic chemicals have been found in other fast fashion brands too.Ĭompanies may use these chemicals, but as I stated before there's a legal limit that is allowed to be in clothes. It's grown for a reason, people turning their head away from the facts. I just questioned why people would want to support one of, if not the BIGGEST fast fashion brand around right now. I didn't say only fast fashion brands are the culprit. Old Navy is cheap fast fashion too, Lululemon may not be cheap fast fashion but doesn't mean they're innocent. So what if it was also found in Lululemon, old navy and LL bean? We're talking about SheIn here, not those companies.
